Who is Harshita Gupta?
Harshita was born on 17th February 1994 in Lucknow to Neeraj Gupta and Neelam Gupta. Her father is a businessperson, and her mother is a homemaker. She did her schooling at La Martiniere Girls College, Lucknow. After that, she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from Amity University Noida.

At the beginning of the career, she worked as a radio producer. She faced many challenges due to the work ethic of the company and she decided to quit the job. Again, after regaining her strength she started to work as a radio jockey at Radio Mirchi. In 2017 the digital wave came so the company management asked her to start making videos. At that time, she was uncomfortable in front of the camera but later learned it as a step-by-step process by overcoming it.
After that, she started to make reels on Instagram with the ID @soharshi along with her father with comedy content related to the different mindsets and behaviors of the Indians by observing the things around them. Some examples that went viral are “Instagram Ruined My Father”, and “Indian Father and Gossips” These are only a few examples, she did this type of reel and created an audience for which they can relate. Because of her good comic timing, people loved her and now she has millions of followers.
For the journey of seven years as a content creator, she was awarded as a comic creator award in March this year which is her first award. She was also ranked 9th among the 100 digital content creators by Forbes India.
She also shot ads for the SPOYL fashion brand owned by Flipkart and also for Lipton Green Tea along with the famous Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor. And she also collaborated with many brands among them Maggi is one of it.
Harshita along with her husband Shrey Chhabra who is a filmmaker started a new clothing brand called ‘Chinkankari Hues’ which is a combination of Lucknow tradition along with modern fashion trends for women for all occasions under the budget. Harshita Gupta is the founder of this clothing brand. Chinkankari is famous for handmade embroidery work.
In an interview, she said that she wants to collaborate with a Bollywood actress Twinkle Khanna as she is a huge inspiration and also a fan of her because of her quick comic timing. And currently, she is authoring a book and soon it will be released. She also shared some views about her creating content is becoming her everyday life, when she started as a content creator, she was attacked by anxiety and she learned gradually with time to deal with it. The most memorable moments of Harshita Gupta were hitting a million followers on Instagram and the second one was nominating as a comic of the year for the Cosmopolitan Awards.
She also advises her followers or fans that keep making content without giving up. Consistency is the key to success and content is the hero of your creation and so you are a director with these two factors. And don’t care about what people say.
